Abstract [en]

A prolog: In the footsteps of my writing memory...

From the early 1980s, when information technology was much more limited than it is today, to the present day, very rapid and comprehensive scientific and technological advancements have offered great opportunities, but also involved certain risks and obstacles in specific areas. This is particularly true in certain areas of digital publishing, such as websites and archiving. Floppy disks, USBs and similar storage devices can also pose risks in the use of stored information as time passes.

During the years I mentioned above, in various countries and geographies, I published hundreds of articles on current and historical topics in numerous classical and digital journals and newspapers, as well as on websites. As a member of the Kurdish nation, which remains one of the stateless nations in the 21st century, I have begun to consider certain ways and methods of compiling and organizing my work, especially in recent years. I've even encountered dilemmas such as the uncertainty surrounding some articles I published anonymously in certain magazines and newspapers during the September 12, 1980 military junta period in Turkey. Questions arose as to whether they belonged to me or someone else. I imagine many friends have experienced similar dilemmas.

Furthermore, during 1986 and 1994, due to the best of my ability and belief efforts to contribute to the Kurdish national and democratic struggle in different countries and geographies, I did not have a permanent home. One consequence of this was the lack of a regular archive of my writings. Beyond my writings, even my diaries, which I kept regularly at certain times, were somewhat lost due to the lack of a permanent home and frequent relocations. For these and similar reasons, despite all my efforts, there may still be some writings that I cannot access, along with other archival documents.

With these thoughts in mind, since a few years ago, I began to consider compiling at least a comprehensive list of my writings outside of scientific articles and publishing them as digital books on various themes, as far as my resources allow. This would also be a new journey in the footsteps my writing memory. But I've realized in the last few years, through some attempts guided by my conscience, that this isn't easy. However, this desire occasionally flares up again in a corner of my heart. The danger of some digital articles disappearing over time is, in a way, a source of guilt.

With this belief, I started compiling and collecting my articles again. I thought it would be better to prepare suitable digital books, starting with my most recent articles. The idea for establishing Pilpilik Publications arose as a hobby, with the aim of publishing this book series and similar works. The word "Pilpilik" in Pilpilik Publications is in one of the Kurdish dialects, Dimilki/Kirmancki/Zazaki, and means butterfly in English. Butterflies, both as flying creatures and in their social meaning in the expression "butterfly effect," have always warmed my heart. With these feelings, I can say that this beginning also coincides with the fundamental pillars of my life philosophy: In a way, the secret of great revolutions lies in small revolutions. This book that which is now in front of you is the product of such an effort. Instead of organizing the books according to the language of the articles I wrote, I found it more appropriate to compile them according to the newspapers, magazines, and internet pages in which they were published, or according to certain themes.

In this first book of the digital book series I planned I have compiled a total of 42 articles that I wrote between 2019 and 2021 on the ‘Nûpel’ website: 21 in Kurmanji, 1 in Dimilkî/Kirmanckî/Zazakî (1.6), and 20 in Turkish. My dear friend Günay Aslan was the editor of Nûpel, and I want to take this opportunity to thank him very much for our good collaboration during this period. I would like to express many tanks to my dear family for theirs all support. I would also like to express many thanks to my good friends Ali Ciftci, Haydar Diljen, Faris Medeni Marsil, and Nihat Saganda for their valuable comments and suggestions regarding the format and content of this book.

I hope that such compilations will continue and become a legacy that not only our generation, but also generation after us and future generations can find and read according to their interests. I am quite happy with this kind of new ‘first step’. With this happy feeling, I wish you good reading.
